Round Conference Tables

what kind of wood or materials would you suggest for a dining table top?

I want to make a table top. I have legs already that I removed from a conference desk. They are kind of contemporary-metal- an upside down T. It needs to be very sturdy.

  1. You could make the top from Birch AB or cabinet grade Plywood. That would have one side good enought for a stained finish. You can buy edge tape to finish the rough edges. The light color of the wood would complement the modern look of the legs.
  2. The table will only be as sturdy as the legs supporting it,id try a 3/4" plywood with a teak or some sort of exotic wood veneer covering.
