what kind of wood or materials would you suggest for a dining table top?
I want to make a table top. I have legs already that I removed from a conference desk. They are kind of contemporary-metal- an upside down T. It needs to be very sturdy.

- You could make the top from Birch AB or cabinet grade Plywood. That would have one side good enought for a stained finish. You can buy edge tape to finish the rough edges. The light color of the wood would complement the modern look of the legs.
- The table will only be as sturdy as the legs supporting it,id try a 3/4" plywood with a teak or some sort of exotic wood veneer covering.
