How do you repair the finish on a dining room table in just a small area? I was using my dining room table as an ironing board with only a towel to protect it, and I was using the steam setting. This, of course, ruined the finish on my table in that area. It didn't hurt the wood, but rather just the lacquer finish. Is there anyway to repair this without stripping, sanding and refinishing the whole table. This is a light wood table with no stain.

I need to build an LED indicator system for a board room, and have no idea how to do it. Help? I sit on a board along with 18 other representatives. We all sit there now with our arms waiving in the air when we have a comment. We look like a bunch of idiots. I would like to build a system with LEDs that would indicate to the chairperson when a Board Member has a comment. I in vision each person having an on and off switch with an indicator LED that they have their switch on. All 18 board members would be connected with thin wires to a console at the chairperson's seat. The console at the chairperson seat would need an indicator LED for each member and a reset button. The board room table is 25 feet long if that makes a difference. Could use batteries or plugged into the wall. I have never done anything like this before. One of my leaves (boards) on my dining room table is warped. Can it be straightened? I'm enlarging the table for Thanksgiving Day and one of the leaves (boards, inserts) are warped. How do I refinishing a dining room table that has little scratches on the finish? The dining room table top is not solid wood, however it has a very thin veneer and a protective finish, The finish has a bunch of little scartches that do not cut into the veneer just the finish, can I use steel wool to lightly sand the top and then apply another coat of verathane or something else? The side have a few nicks that did go through to the particle board or whatever the wood is underneath, how do I fix that?

Homeschool set-ups! Where does your child homeschool? What room? Dining room table? Me and my wife have a whole room in our house that is the classroom ...we have 2 desks one for each of our kids. We have a real standard size chalkboard, bulletin boards (that my wife decorates) we have artwork on the walls ....we have a computer desk with 2 side by side computers for the kids to use. My wife has her laptop to use. We have a high price copy machine/ printer and scanner....for all worksheets. We have a reading area, also writing area. How can I paint my dining room table? The base is wood but the top is manufactured material...? In an effort to save some money, my boyfriend and I bought a used dining room table that has a nice wood pedastool base, but the table surface itself is some sort of particle board or veneer (made to look like wood)? Not sure really. Can I still maybe prime that surface and paint it along with sanding and painting the base without them coming out different? Do I need to apply a protective clear coat or do they make paints for furniture that dont need it? Im not to excited about a super shiny finish either, but if it needs to be... Retro Dining Room Table Repair? I have a table from the 1950's, it is particle board underneath which is making it hard for me to to screw anything to the bottom of the table to brace it. -I've tried metal brackets to attempt to brace the center of the table, which worked for about 10 minutes until the screws pulled out of the 50 year particle board. - I don't know what the best way to repair this table is, my current attempt is to glue another piece of wood to the bottom of the current table and attach braces running the entire length of the table attached to the new piece of wood. -I would appreciate any and all help with the matter because it would cost way to much to find this table again due to its age. I would like to roll my sewing machine around the room in a console unit-bottom of legs are 1/2 inches square? so I think the legs are too narrow for casters/wheels. How to makeover a school conference room? My elementary school has a conference room with a mish-mash of items. The soundproofing on the walls is gray (on one wall). The carpet is red - yikes, but no changing that. The room is very dark and dingy with old furniture that does not go together. Does anyone know what a cabinet that you can pull a "table" from, and has fold up chairs inside is called? I saw this cabinet at a friend's house, he got it from his grandparents, and has no idea where they got it from. The cabinet is kindof old, probably from the 60's or 70's. It's really cool, the table slides out from where the drawers would be, and has boards that you use to extend it to make it larger. The chairs are actually quite large and fold up to about a 2x2 square. The whole cabinet is probably 4 1/2 feet long and about 3 feet high. How does max-security prison visitation work? For a novel I'm working on, I need to know the details of how a maximum-security visit usually goes. I have an uncle who was formerly in max-security; when we (my family) visited him, it was in an open visitation room with dozens of tables, board games, and vending machines--rather like a mall food court, except with security everywhere. That is generally my perception of max-security visitation. However, I've also seen scenarios where max-security visits take place sitting on the opposite sides of glass, talking through a speaker. This might particularly be the case here, as the reason my character is in max-security in the first place is for attacking a visitor when he was in med-security. Any suggestions for a math teacher having to teach in a science lab with an immobile, unwanted demo table.? I am a first year teacher and I just saw my classroom for the first time today. Unfortunately, my excitement faded when I found that I was given a science lab to teach math in. In the front of the room is a very large demonstration table and eye wash station, both of which are immoveable. I have a dry erase board to use, but it is behind the table, putting the students at least 10-15 feet away. There is no way to move the dry erase board sonce the side walls are lined with cabinets, and the back wall has a door opening leading to the room next door. Does anyone have suggestions to help me?

Does the London Tourism Board ever check on the condition of accomodation offered in London? I spent the night at the Driscoll House Hotel at 172 New Kent Road and it was a really shocking experience that anyone could be asked to pay money to stay in such accomodation. The building on the exterior is very presentable and a unique one but the inside is something out of a bad dream. The furniture in the rooms are broken and battered, the taps run, the water pipes are exposed and run through the room (ie: the hot water copper pipes run next to your bed), the windows are stuffed with newspaper where there are gaps and there are no radios, tv's,or any type of modern amenity. They offer meals which are eaten at large wooden tables and quite frankly that was a risk I was not going to take. The rate is £30.00 per night and £150.00 a week and they are aiming at foreign tourists. Altogether a frightening experience. The only plus was that although the bedlinen had a few holes here and there it was crisp and clean. That was the only plus.

Have ideas to keep multiple children well behaved and entertained while babysitting? Ok, our church is having a consignment sale and I am scheduled to keep nursery 3 nights in a row. There could be up to 15 kids in the room, with myself, my friend, and possibly someone else helping us. The room has a table, about 10 chairs, a white board, and no power except the lights. I need ideas for the kids to keep themselves entertained and to keep myself from tiring out too easily. I have music available because I have an iFlop, but I'm afraid they will get bored of music, dancing, singing, coloring, and board games after a while. I need some good games and/or crafts. HELP!

how do i get the whole screen to show when i am playing in a spades card game. the bottom not there for chat? the messege board in the table room is off the bottom of the screen and i can't get the screen to move up

I need a low budget make-over for my game room any ideas? I am on a very low budget but would really like to make over my garage game room. Any budget friendly ideas? When we first painted it we used Hawaiian themed decor left over from our daughter's luau party but we are tired of it. We need to cover the walls somehow. Furniture auctions- midlands UK? I am looking for furniture auctions in or around the midlands. I need to get a dining room table and 6 chairs, a side board, coffee table and TV unit, preferably in rosewood or sheesham. Anyone know of an auction or of anywhere I can get these items for cheaper than in the shops?

Boarding school room!!! Please help :D:D:D? hi. I go to boarding school in England ( I'm english). We go back to school on thursday. My roommate and I were wondering how to make our rooms more cosy and homely. Our rooms already have 2 beds, 2 wardrobes and 2 bedside tables but the walls are really nasty creamy colour and its really boring inside. We aren't allowed ot paint the walls. So what do you think we should do to make the room have a nicer feel. We bought a rug and some pillows for the beds but we are kinda stuck for other things so we thought we would ask some help. Please dont suggest thing that take up loads of rooms cos we dont have too much space. and btw we are quite preppy and girly so anything of that genre would be appreciated. thanks so much What do you think we should put
